Melbourne turned it on for Saturday InDesign 2025, and Winnings was proud to be at the heart of it all.
Our Winnings Richmond Flahsgip Showroom became a hub of design innovation, culinary delights, and creative expression — bringing together Australia’s leading architects, designers, and design lovers for a day to remember.
If you couldn’t make it, or just want to relive the buzz, here are the highlights from a jam-packed day of inspiration and activation:
1. Architect & Designer Breakfast
The day kicked off bright and early with our chef-curated breakfast for architects and designers. Guests enjoyed seasonal dishes, expertly brewed coffee, and the kind of relaxed networking that sparks collaboration before the first panel even begins.
2. Exclusive Luxury Gift Bags
Those who arrived early scored one of our exclusive gift bags — curated with premium items designed to add value well beyond the event. With only 300 available, they were snapped up fast.
3. Panel Talk: The New Language of Hospitality
One of the day’s most thought-provoking sessions, The New Language of Hospitality, was hosted by Miele and moderated by Indesign’s Timothy Alouani-Roby. With insights from Dillon Counsel, Jessica Ellis, and Michael Drescher, the panel explored how hospitality design is shaping modern homes — from restaurant-style kitchens to mood lighting worthy of a five-star lobby.
4. Live Art in Action: MODDPODGE Courtyard Experience
The courtyard became an open-air gallery thanks to Melbourne artist MODDPODGE. Throughout the day, guests watched a large-scale abstract artwork come to life, layer by textured layer. Known for his bold mixed-media style, MODDPODGE’s performance blurred the line between process and finished piece, creating a living work of art that reflected the energy of the day.
5. Stay Hydrated in Style: Zip Water Lounge
Design meets refreshment at the Zip Water hydration lounge, where guests sipped sparkling water, infused teas, and zero-proof mocktails. The space provided a stylish pause to recharge between activations — proving even hydration can be elevated by design.
6. Wine & Cheese by Liebherr
At noon, the focus shifted to indulgence with a wine and cheese masterclass led by Winnings’ Culinary Team. Guests discovered perfect pairings while experiencing the precision of Liebherr refrigeration — a delicious reminder that design extends to every detail of entertaining.
7. Curated Cocktails by Vintec & AEG
From liquid nitrogen theatrics to herb-infused spritzes, the cocktail bar by Vintec & AEG brought flair and flavour in equal measure. Guests learned mixology tips while sampling creations that balanced creativity with class.
8. Smeg Italian Alfresco Experience with Freddy’s
Italy came to Richmond thanks to Smeg and Freddy’s, who rolled out an alfresco feast of pizza, pasta, and arancini. Cooked live on Smeg’s new all-electric BBQ, the showcase highlighted both the performance and conviviality of Italian dining.
9. Freshly Shucked Oysters with Fisher & Paykel
The bar was raised with freshly shucked oysters and caviar bumps, perfectly paired with champagne. Fisher & Paykel’s activation was all about luxury at its freshest — elevating a timeless delicacy into a moment of theatre and indulgence.
10. The Grand Finale: Winnings Block Party
The day closed with a bang at the Miele Mainstage. Our not-so-secret Block Party, headlined by Sneaky Sound System, delivered live music, dancing, and a festival-like energy that kept the crowd buzzing until the very last note. For many, it was the highlight of the entire Saturday InDesign experience.
