Bought this to replace existing smeg range hood that had just gone out of warranty (2 years) and had become defective. This is actually my 3rd smeg range in approx 10 years and without doubt one of the worst kitchen appliances I have ever purchased. I bought this thinking that because it is the latest deluxe model it would be better than the deluxe model that I was replacing. This model is complete junk. The filters are very weak and flimsy and fall out. The thing is made of an ugly grey weak tin material that is impossible to clean. (My previous model was all stainless steel ). When you take the filters out to clean you have cables that dangle out of the body of the unit. The thing is just really, really low quality. I paid over $1600 for this range and could have bought a similar, if not better range for half the price. This is my honest opinion and I can tell you that if you are thinking of purchasing high end, high quality kitchen appliances DO NOT think of smeg, as they are not the company these used to be. Appliances online shouldn’t be selling this range at such a high price. If I could I would give this range minus 5 stars. To be fair, the only good thing about this range is that it has led lights, where as the previous model had halogen lights. I have made many purchases from appliances online. I even paid above rrp for this range: But now I have lost complete confidence in using their services.
