Winning Appliances is proud to announce the opening of its very first store in our national capital.

Located in the beautiful and historic Canberra suburb of Kingston, the new store houses 33 of the world’s best appliance brands including Miele, Bosch, Smeg, ILVE and Fisher & Paykel as well as exclusive brands like Sub-Zero and Wolf, Siemens, Gaggenau, PITT and Highland.
Spanning more than 2600 sqm across two levels, it not only represents Winning Appliances’ largest store but the biggest kitchen and laundry showroom in the Southern Hemisphere.

It was officially officially opened last Thursday, when the Winning Family hosted 300 dignitaries and local luminaries who gathered to witness a ribbon cutting ceremony, speeches from John Winning, CEO of Winning Group, and David Woollcott, CEO of Winning Appliances, and a Welcome to Country by Aunty Agnes Shea OAM, Senior Ngunnawal.
John Winning senior (pictured below) - from the third generation of the Winning family - was given the honour of cutting the ribbon.

Guests included French Ambassador, His Excellency Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenija Her Excellency Mrs Helena Drnovšek Zorko and Italian Embassy representative Carlo Cosentino along with several high profile locals.

Like all Winning Appliances flagship showrooms, the Kingston store provides the ultimate platform for Australians to see, touch and interact with the latest and greatest appliances.
Mr Winning said the new store builds on Winning Appliances’ successful multi sensory retail concept, which was first unveiled in Sydney in 2013. “We’re thrilled to not only bring Canberra a truly unique shopping experience, but also access to a broader range of the world’s best appliance brands. Appliance design and function has come a long way in recent years, yet few retailers have raised the bar to provide customers with an experience to match.”

David Woollcott, CEO of Winning Appliances, said the new store marks an important milestone for the business, which has more than one hundred years of history. “When we first found the Kingston Plaza building we were instantly inspired and attracted to its beautiful foundation and connection to the Kingston area. As a century-old retailer, Winning Appliances is one of Australia’s longest standing family retail businesses so it’s fitting that our first Canberra store is located in a building that also has such a rich history and heritage.”

Mr Woollcott noted that the design renovation paid careful respect to the historical legacy of the building. “The building’s heritage as Canberra’s first Department store inspired the concept for the new showroom’s polished, industrial theme, which complements Kingston’s effortlessly cool art and culture precinct, whilst still retaining and paying tribute to elements of its past. The building’s heritage tells a story and we wanted that story to live on throughout its next chapter as Winning Appliances Flagship Store,” he said.
We invite you to become part of this story - and look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful new showroom at Winning Appliances Kingston!
