I bought this vacuum cleaner 4 years ago believing Dyson a good brand . It has worked well for 3 years until the flimsy plastic release lever for the dirt catcher began to crack and eventually the whole mechanism broke yesterday and it is impossible to release the dirt barrel without it. For this reason, cannot recommend it

I bought the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor to replace my Dyson Origin DC8, (20 odd years old) and after first use am quite happy with the new technology and fittings. The multi floor tool works well with moving onto vinyl/lino from carpet, my carpet isn't exactly high pile. I certainly don't understand the - and + switch on the Pneumatic Head, on PLUS I can't move the head at all. The bin empties very well compared to the older style collection bins, just a simple clip system to release the clear bin. The machine is much quieter than the old DC8. So far so good.

I have so many Dyson products I have lost count and they are all good. This vacuum is not. The vacuum itself may or may not be good because it is hard to find out when the pneumatic head is basically useless. It doesn't suction well at all. I have had to use the turbine and floor tools from my other vacuum which is really inconvenient. Disappointing.
