| Material Notes | Cast iron is hardwearing with great compressive strength and is easy to maintain. De La Espada's cast iron is parkerized, which protects the iron from corrosion and wear, retains oil molecules, and provides a dark grey to black matte surface. A light coating of wax further protects the surface, while providing an attractive sheen. |
