Avoid product and avoid Appliances Online
Awful product and appalling service from Appliances Online. Avoid and don't trust. The washer starting showing an error right from the start; the error prevented us from using the machine. After more than a month, multiple phone calls, a technician that showed up and couldn't solve the problem, and ~$3000 AUD spent (!), we still don't have a working washing machine... Bosch in the end acknowledged the issue and agreed to replace the washer for a new one, but of course here I am at 5pm after waiting a whole (work) day for a machine that Appliances Online promised to deliver in the morning and that it seems won't be delivered at all.... Nobody is accountable; it is impossible to talk to an Appliances Online manager; and of course the delivery was outsourced to an obscure third-party company that is not reliable at all. Horrific experience. Will not do it again.
Much smaller capacity than expected
We bought this 9kg set to replace a smaller washer and dryer. The old washer was a 6.5kg top loader. I picked this 9kg Bosch thinking it would give us a lot more size for laundry. Unfortunately, the Bosch 9kg washer is significantly smaller than our old 6.5kg washer. We can't fit a full load in and as a result we have to do more wash cycles than previously. I don't understand why in Bosch-land 9kg is smaller than 6.5kg. (In fact, the 9kg Bosch dryer has a larger capacity than the 9kg Bosch washer!)
Other than this, they seem to be good quality products and we are happy with the performance. There is a small bug with the washer - often when you turn it on it will go straight to 'End', requiring you to turn it off and on again. This is only a minor inconvenience.
Another small complaint is that there is no setting to pre-soak. If you want to soak for longer (e.g. to soak out stains) your only option is to guess when the washer is full of water and press pause, and then come back an hour later and unpause it. I was disappointed at this lack of basic functionality from what I thought was a high end machine.
Wash times are good. A standard cottons cycle takes 60 minutes. When you start the dryer it always claims it will take over 4 hours, but in reality it usually takes between 1 and 2 hours to dry. No humid, dripping laundry anymore, which is great.
Delivery and installation was a bit of a farce. On initial delivery, they were unable to complete installation because I had to change our laundry taps. This was not their fault at all. After I put in new taps I rang and booked another installation. No one turned up on the day I booked for. After calling them they said my booking had somehow been lost. When they came back another day to install, AO sent guys who were apparently not qualified to install. So they left and made another booking. This time, I didn't receive any text or email on the day to confirm their arrival. I called to check and was told they would call back in five minutes with a time. They never called back. When the installers eventually arrived, they had brought a new washer with them, thinking it was a delivery! Finally the machines were set up. AO did give us a discount voucher for a future purchase to make up for this mess, but it was just crazy.
If I had my time over, I would still buy Bosch machines but I would get a larger capacity.
