A new initiative is encouraging Queenslanders to invest in energy-saving appliances.

As part of the Queensland government’s Household Energy Savings Program, customers from the Sunshine State will be eligible to receive a rebate on the purchase of a new eligible appliance with an energy rating of 4 stars or more.

Efficient products can often cost more than others upfront, but will save considerably on energy bills over time. This new initiative will make it easier for consumers to enjoy these long-term savings.

Eligible appliances must be purchased and installed on or after the program commencement date on 4th September 2023, with one rebate available per household.

From 4th September 2023, you can purchase and apply for the rebate for the following appliances with a minimum 4-star energy rating:

$300 standard rebate and $550 low-income rebate for a clothes washing machine (including washer/dryers)
$300 standard rebate and $550 low-income rebate for a clothes dryer
$300 standard rebate and $550 low-income rebate for a dishwasher
$350 standard rebate and $600 low-income rebate for a refrigerator (including fridge/freezers)
$400 standard rebate and $650 low-income rebate for an air conditioner
$800 standard rebate and $1,000 low-income rebate for a heat pump hot water system
$800 standard rebate and $1,000 low-income rebate for a solar hot water system
