This is the second ZIP unit we've purchased. The previous one lasted seven years. My wife refuses to do without the convenience however be aware of the total costs. Expensive to purchase plus installation if you're unable to DIY and the water filters are ridiculously expensive, even non genuine. We had our first unit repaired a few times and tolerated multiple issues until finally we decided to just replace it. ZIP service is eye wateringly expensive and considerable delays involved. Fortunately we found a good independent specialist but you're still looking at lots of expense. Without doubt the most expensive whole of life appliance we've ever owned if you annualised the cost. A cheap kettle will boil water but the convenience of these almost makes it worth the money and a happy wife equals a happy life.
