Very disappointed
For the price of the item it doesn't perform well. I bought the Tefal Express Easy for my business and to date it has not delivered. Considering the name Tefal has thought it would perform a lot better than it has.
Waste of money
I have recently bought the Express Easy Steam Generator after having a much more superior Tefal Steam Station which decided to give up the ghost after performing well for many years. This was obviou9sly designed by a man who doesn't iron and didn't consult woman who does. The cord outlet digs iinto your wrist, mkiing it hard to hold like a normal iron; the steam button is too far back under the handle and you have to use you middle two fingers to operate comfortably, which is not comfortable at all, the iron is a hard push and doesn't generate good head of steam. I have never given such a bad revieew and I hate this. I just hate not enjoying a normal household task. This now takes me a long time and my wrist is red, sore and marked from the cord hosing that has pressed against it. What a shame, as I just adored my other Tefal steam station and I didn't hesitate to buy this one. They have fallen down on this design and I will be looking at other products shortly because I just don't know that I can put up with this dradful iron any longer.
3 major flaws - this model a fail
I have owned 1/2 dozen tefal steam stations over the years and this one is the worst by far. It has 3 major flaws that for me, make it completely un-useable. Firstly, the weight of the iron/handset itself - its soooo heavy ! I would say it weights double or triple what other irons weigh. This iron could not be used by the elderly. I used it for 2-3 hours and my arm was sore and aching afterwards. The second flaw is the hook they have added to the base that connects to the iron to keep it secure on the base. All other models have a dish shaped base where the iron just sits snugly. This model is flatter on the base but has a big hook on it that fits into the base of the iron. It's tricky to get the iron onto it and tricky to get it off - the base (full of boiling water!) nearly ended up on the floor at least a dozen times when the iron got caught on the hook. Some would say you should just stand the iron on it's heel when moving clothes around however when ironing sheets you need the entire ironing board so the iron needs to keep going back onto the base. Issue 3 - Weirdly the soleplate was quite "sticky" and did not seamlessly glide. I checked it and it was completely clean - the iron was brand new! Not sure if they have changed the formulation of the non stick soleplate but this "stickiness" also makes the ironing job really heavy going. These 3 flaws in design alone make this model a total fail. The steam (when it comes - it does not have the continuous steam of more expensive models) is quite good and the ironing outcome was quite good also. I have called Tefal and they said I could return the iron to the place of purchase (with receipt) for a refund or replacement. I will get a replacement but it won't be this model! I would not recommend this iron.
