This is our second induction cooktop and we were impressed by the reviews for this model. The two smaller burners individually are fine, but are not very powerful when they are both heating. This requires a fair amount of saucepan juggling to switch to the big burner which has plenty of oomph. But it's disappointing to have to keep moving saucepans when you need more heat at a certain point in cooking. Sadly, the two smaller right hand burners often fail to sense the presence of a saucepan so they won't heat anything and the large burner, although more powerful, also sometimes just decides to stop heating for no reason which is frustrating in the middle of cooking anything really. The dials take some getting used to with a scale of 0 - 9. 9 (or the P power setting) will boil things ok, but anything much below 7 barely keeps things simmering so all your cooking seems to be done on 7, 8 or 9 making 1- 5 almost reduntant except to keep something warm. The frypan sensor sounds like a good idea (thermostatically keeping a constant temp) but while the scale goes from 1-5 we find that only 4 or 5 seem to deliver any frying heat and I'm not sure what is the point of power settings1-3. Those technical niggles aside. When it works properly it's neat. It's quite stylish and we did really want a knob rather than slidy dials which never seem to work with wet fingers on other models. So the control wheel is a good feature. But so far we're underwhelmed by lack of everyday performance.

We have live in our house for a year now with this cooktop. The twistpad is fiddly and because it is magnetic sticks to baking trays. So twice now we have had to replace it as it has stuck to the bottom of a tray and is not heat proof. The cooktop is very difficult to use without it. These should be oven proof. Also eaily lost with Kids etc.

Our Neff induction cooktop is fantastic, I love it. I would give it a 5 but Neff soured my experience a bit by trying to sell me their pots, which they actually don’t even know much about. These sales pitches were disguised as support. One sales woman even told me that certain functions on the cooktop would only work if i used their pots! So i can see why the company gets such a bad rap on Prodcut Review - some dodgy sales practices there. The cooktop is fab though so just hoping it lasts and I don’t have to deal with Neff.
