I thought this was a carpet brush? doesn't pick up a thing on our carpets. very weird. have started using the original head that came with our Miele vacuum but it's pretty hard going on a strong setting. I seem to be stuck which is a shame as I used to swear by Miele!

I bought this to supplement the standard floor tool as I liked the concept of the 'deep cleaning' action performed by the spinning brush bar. The brushes on the brush bar are nice and stiff so they dig into the carpet rather than just simply riding on the surface of the carpet. It certainly does a very good job of deep cleaning my rugs and carpets and its not too noisy, though the brush bar does slow down a bit on very thick rugs; though this is to be expected as the brush bar is driven by the suction action and not by an electric motor. On hard floors it worked equally well though it would be wise to lower the suction a bit to reduce scattering of dust. My only gripe that prevents me from awarding it 5 stars is that long threads/hairs get wrapped around the brush bar rather than being sucked into the machine. The base plate can be removed to gain easier access to the brush bar, but the brush bar itself cannot be removed, so you have to manually keep turning it by hand to remove any wound around threads/hairs. It is rather time-consuming to keep snipping and pulling out any threads/hairs. However I only need to do this about once a month so its not too much of an issue. Overall I am fairly happy with this floor tool. It does clean much better than the standard floor tool. However be prepared to be put in some effort to manually keep the brush bar clean to get the most out of this tool.

Definitely gets more pet fur and dirt out of our carpets and also is easier to run over it as it kind of self propels. Would recommend
