I recently created an Electric Outdoor Barbeque using a combination of an AEG Teppanyaki Induction cooktop and a separate AEG standard Induction cooktop with a separate Teppanyaki Grill Plate. This creates a potentially brilliant alternative to a GAS barbeque. The resultant combination works really weel however there are certainly some things that could be better. The Grill Plate is the wrong shape for an induction cooktop. It is too long and could be slightly wider. In addition, the plate has a large handle at both ends which for most 600mm wide benches will see the handle at one end pushing the plate too far forward and covering the induction controls which causes them to error. I cut the handle off one end. Regardless of these issues the Grill Plate is a fantastic cooking surface. Compare it to the purpose built Teppanyaki cooktop, is chalk and cheese. The separate grill plate cooks far more evenly and get significantly hotter if required than the Purpose-built unit. If I had to do this again, I would simply get a 900mm Induction cooktop and 2 Grill plates. Having said all of that, it is still a marked improvement on the dirty smokey gas alternatives.

Nervously trying for the first time, I was very impressed. It cooked fillet steak quickly and very well. The plate fitted my new induction cooktop beautifully and is a stylish platter to serve at the table. Instructions however need improvement, as they focused on cleaning directions, not cooking or recipe ideas.

I am disappointed with this purchase as once heated for the first time the base warped. i heated to about half what my AEG induction hob allowed and now every time i use it it wobbles. I dont know how to add the video or photos
