History
The origins of Vitamix stretch back to 1921 when William Grover Barnard started a business under the moniker 'The Natural Food Institute'. Introduced to the blender in 1937, Barnard dubbed this revolutionary product the "Vitamix", as "vita" means "life". In 1949, Vitamix advertised the numerous health benefits of their product on America's first infomercial, which led them to change the company name and start engineering premium, commercial blenders. Today, 'Vitamix' continue to innovate high performance blenders and are the authority when it comes to quality and precision blending solutions.
