Reaching the Australian market in 1936, Rheem Manufacturing Company Australia was Rheem Manufacturing Company America's first overseas foray. Producing its first water heater in Sydney in 1939, the venture quickly became a large scale operation with BHP purchasing 50% of the company and supplying Australian steel for all manufacturing. Responsible for more than 7 decades of innovation in the hot water industry, Rheem continues to innovate and engineer in the pursuit of greater efficiency and sustainability.
