The event, which took place on 27 April, saw 80 guests - made up of kitchen cabinet makers, architects and interior designers - gather at the home of John Winning for drinks and canapes prior to the award ceremony.

Special guest Peter Ireland, from the architect firm Allen Jack+Cottier, took guests on a tour of the house and explained the design thinking behind the build, itself a notable example of contemporary design featuring Sub-Zero and Wolf products. The awards were presented by Andrew Mumford, Australian Managing Director of Sub Zero Wolf.

On 3rd May, the 25 Global Finalists of the 2015-2016 Kitchen Design Contest was announced, the results of a four-day review and deliberation by a panel of seven esteemed architects and interior designers at the company’s headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin.

We’re delighted to announce that five of the finalists are from Australia, including: Matt Gibson from Matt Gibson Architecture + Design, Tony Chenchow from Chenchow Little Architects, Miriam Fanning from Mim Design, David Selden from David Selden Design, and Fergus Scott from Fergus Scott Architects.

All Global Finalists will receive a trip for two to attend the Winners’ Summit and Gala, held from 24 to 27 September at Hotel del Coronado located on Coronado Island just outside San Diego, California. The contest’s 10 Global Winners will be announced at the gala honouring their achievements in design on Monday, 25 September. More than just a chance to honour the industry’s finest, it’s also a rare and invaluable opportunity for finalists and judges to network and share ideas.

Winning Appliances would like to congratulate the respective winners and finalists, while acknowledging the outstanding caliber of all entrants across both competitions. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you in the future and the chance to help realise incredible design solutions for our customers.
