The main mall in Brookvale, Westfield Warringah Mall, is currently undergoing a $310 million redevelopment, which is scheduled for completion by late 2016. As part of this redevelopment the mall will host 70 new stores, a refurbished Myer and a brand new social hub, Centre Court, which will be a digitally enabled area with Wi-Fi, event space, ambient green spaces and food kiosks. It’s set to be a great place to shop, eat and meet friends in 2016.
Also found at Westfield Warringah Mall is Sydney Float Centre, the perfect place to relax after shopping. Treatments at Sydney Float Centre involve floating in a light-proof, soundproof ‘Float Pod’ containing 1000 litres of water and 600kgs of Epsom Salts –it’s more buoyant than the dead sea! Floating is said to have remarkable health and well-being benefits and can eliminate stress, tension and anxiety as well as offer relief from muscle soreness, back and neck pain.

Westfield Warringah Mall is also home to Australia’s first outlet for “The Best Chocolate Cake in the World”. Using a secret recipe originally created in Lisbon, Portugal, The Best Chocolate Cake in the World is sold in 30 cities around the world and Westfield Warringah is its flagship home in Sydney. The not-so-humbly-named flourless cake is made of crispy layers of meringue, a creamy, soft chocolate mousse and an indulgent Valrhona chocolate ganache. Try it for yourself to see if it lives up to its name!

For a well-known North Sydney savoury snack head to The Brooky Pie, a family run business on Pittwater Road who have been baking pies for the Northern Beaches for over 24 years. Their fresh, flaky pie pastry is handmade from scratch each morning and then stuffed with flavours including chunky beef, onion and cheese and butter chicken. They also serve a selection of freshly baked sausage rolls and sweet things, including apple turners they recommend you take home, reheat and serve with ice cream.
