This month’s food news features flavours of Asia and a sustainable food and wine festival. Plus, it’s finally time for one of Australia’s best known (and loved) culinary events – Margaret River Gourmet Escape.
Flavours Of Asia With Luke Mangan
Virgin Australia’s Resident Chef is hosting a celebration of Asian food at his warehouse-style tapas bar Mojo, which is situated next door to our Sydney flagship store on Danks Street. Luke Mangan and Mojo’s Head chef Wayne Lee will be producing a mash up of Asian meets Australian cuisine, while some of Sydney’s and Melbourne’s up-and-coming cake makers and gelato connoisseurs will be serving creative Asian-inspired sweet treats. There will also be a DJ mixing the music and Singapore Slings and Asahi Beer to get you in the party spirit.
The Sens-Asian event on the 19th November costs $85 per person for 6 food/dessert plates and a glass of sparkling wine. Bookings can be made by calling +612 9002 5246.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape Is Here!
The time has finally come for Margaret River’s delectable festival of food and wine, which takes place from the 20th – 22nd November. Food and wine experts from across the world will be gathering on the beautiful west coast of Australia for a series of talks, dinners and cooking demonstrations with the likes of Marco
Pierre White, Mark Best and Adriano Zumbo. We look forward to meeting all the foodies who will be joining us for dinner courtesy of Stokehouse aboard the Kimberley Quest II, as well as those who plan to come to our free Farm To Table demonstrations at the Gourmet Village. Keep an eye out for our Chef Ambassador: Josh Catalano!
There are some limited last minute tickets available for the event. Visit the Gourmet Escape Facebook page for more information.

Coffee Box Opens In Darling Harbour
On a mission to deliver good coffee to the office workers and tourists in Darling Harbour is the recently opened Coffee Box Espresso. Run by young entrepreneur and coffee fanatic, Vasili Doukakis, the Coffee Box is very much a family business (just like Winning Appliances!), Vasili’s mum bakes the muffins and banana bread fresh daily, and his siblings are often roped into helping out behind the counter. Situated right at the beginning of Pyrmont Bridge in Darling Harbour, Coffee Box is in a great position for coffee lovers needing a pick me up on their way into the city. Find out more here.
