In this month’s round up of what’s happening in the food scene around Australia we bring you Sydney’s hottest new restaurants and bars, some tempting offers for foodies at Brisbane Festival and highlights from our very own Winning International Food and Wine event in WA.
Barangaroo – The Newest Foodie Destination In Sydney
The cranes are yet to come down on Sydney’s Barangaroo development but already the area is set to be Sydney’s hottest foodie destination. Creators of Sydney’s most-loved sausage rolls, Bourke Street Bakery, is already trading on Wulugul Wharf, as is Melbourne’s famous Shortstop Coffee and Donuts, which sells exactly what it says on the sign, nothing more.

On the waterfront you’ll find Turkish cuisine with a twist at Anason. Designed by Somer Sivrioglu, chef and owner of the popular Balmain restaurant Efendy, the Anason menu is inspired by modern Istanbul meze bars. With highlights including pumpkin hummus, string haloumi salad and succulent lamb shoulder that falls from the bone, this is Turkish cuisine at its tastiest.
