You're invited to the Sunday Supper Club!

This week saw the first ever in a new series of events which will celebrate the wonderful gastronomic culture of Canberra.

To be held on the first Sunday of each month, the “Sunday Supper Club” invites locals to a very special dinner party at the Winning Appliances Kingston showroom. This exciting concept is a collaboration between Winning Appliances and HerCanberra magazine - the multi-contributor website that highlights the talents of Canberra women and the cosmopolitan lifestyle to be enjoyed in our national capital.


Each one stars a leading Canberran chef or gourmet expert who will take guests on a culinary journey that promises to be inspirational, informative, entertaining - and, above all, delicious!

And our Kingston showroom is the perfect venue: transcending the capabilities of a normal store or restaurant, it’s a place able to cater for a spectacular dining event while offering our customers a unique ability to experience the latest in appliances design and technology.  


Last Sunday 3 June, featured Chef John Leverink (above left), partner of Pod Food, head chef at The Boat House and one of the brains behind five-star picnic company, Schmicnics. Our very own Winning Appliances culinary expert Danielle Pasco (right) was on hand to provide the assistance of her in-depth product knowledge. 

As will be the case at each Sunday Supper Club, guests were able to watch the guest chef cook up a storm, discover the source of their culinary inspiration in a conversation hosted by HerCanberra CEO Amanda Whitley (below left) and then - of course - savor some delicious food!


The menu John prepared demonstrated an eclectic yet harmonious spread of tastes and textures, reflecting and expanding on the possibilities for home cooking and entertaining.  

Following canapes of cheddar custard with parmesan shortbread, diners sat down to an entree of burrata, peach, jamon, basil and liquorice.

They were then treated to a main course of sous vide chicken breast with miso roast veggies and winter vegetable puree, followed by a dessert of bittersweet chocolate tart, pickled beetroots and creme fraiche ice cream.  


Naturally, Winning Appliances is delighted to be a part of this endeavor - the importance of good, healthy and delicious cooking is a vital part of our ethos!  We are also proud to be part of the Canberra community (albeit a relatively recent addition) and love to help share the inspiration that brings lovers of delicious food together.
