Franke began its life, as is so often the way, with self-described “humble beginnings” - in this case a small sheet-metal business in Rorschach, Switzerland, which was established by Hermann Franke. Building upon values of innovation, entrepreneurship, quality and stylish design, the company developed a multinational presence - becoming the world’s largest manufacturer of kitchen sinks.

With their superb attention to quality, they progressed into cooking equipment throughout the 40s - continuing to evolve as a global brand championing respect, trust and openness.

Part of the Franke story is that they recently inherited the Highland range. For over 25 years, Highland had been producing superb examples of cooktops - designing and assembling them for the Australian market from a small Melbourne factory.

With the Highland range now in the fold, Franke will sustain a treasured legacy, ensuring the passion and dedication for quality performance lives on.

This Glass Cooktop is a case in point, combining elegance, flexibility and power - and with its frameless ceramic black finish, it will integrate elegantly with a contemporary kitchen aesthetic.

Superbly engineered to enable you to take advantage of the precise control and power of gas, it offers five burners with vitreous-enamelled cast-iron pan supports, providing excellent durability as well as being dishwasher safe. The wok burner is particularly versatile, offering both high-intensity cooking with an input of 22 MJ/h as well as a low simmer of 0.5 MJ/h, allowing for delicate simmering and even melting chocolate.
