Aussies star at the Sub-Zero Wolf Kitchen Design Contest

Last week, the Gala Awards Ceremony was held in San Diego to announce the 10 Global Winners of the Sub-Zero Wolf Kitchen Design Contest (KDC).

Winning Appliances is delighted to announce that a total of three Australian design firms were amongst those winners, with design firms Fergus Scott Architects, Mim Design and Chenchow Little Architects awarded for their outstanding achievements.

From NSW, Fergus Scott Architects won first place in the Contemporary category, for their beautiful kitchen integrated into the stunning, modern coastal retreat "The Farm".

Victoria’s Mim Design was awarded first place in the Transitional category for the kitchen of the "DRF Residence", an Edwardian home that makes superb use of marble benchtops and white oiled oak floors.

Lastly, NSW’s Chenchow Little Apartments won first place in the First-Time Entry category, for the "Darling Point Apartment", which has a kitchen designed to capture and embrace the faceting geometry of the original 1970s apartment building to give it renewed life and accentuate panoramic views.

Hosted by Sub-Zero and Wolf, the KDC recognises kitchens that incorporate the products of these two luxury appliance brands while demonstrating an outstanding command of design.

This year, more than 1500 entries were received from 24 countries representing all three design styles – traditional, transitional and contemporary.

Andrew Mumford, Managing Director of Sub Zero Group Australia, said: "There's an incredible breadth of design talent across Australia. To me, it's pivotal that these winners have been given an international platform to showcase their work thanks to Sub-Zero and Wolf."

Both brands are featured in Winning Appliances "Luxury Collection" and this competition reflects their abiding commitment to beautiful and functional design work.
