So, I settled for the ILVE because I had no choice, no other fridge would fit the purpose-built cabinet of my new apartment. Ok, I checked the energy consumption and one-and-a-half stars for the fridge is pretty lousy, only in parts made up for by the four-and-a-half freezer compartment stars. I also found the fridge to make quite distinct sounds when kicking the compressor into life. But, know what? Once the cabinet door integration was complete I couldn't hear a thing and - frankly, if you were to build a fridge that small with a 5-star energy rating, then you would have no storage space left due to the massive insulation. I absolutely love the super-large fruit storage compartment and also the horizontal 4-bottle rack. Two killer features for me, may I add. Everything else is well-appointed, nice glass shelves and solid plastics that don't feel cheap. Can't give the ILVE 5 stars as the fridge is a compromise, but at that price point it's excellent value for an integrated fridge.
