Fridge required for a small space and is so spacious inside. Value for money.

Second attempt to submit a review specifically for the HRBN6340EXAU 323L Bottom Mount Refrigerator [Pearl Steel]. Summary I've now had this fridge for one month, its increasingly becoming a disappointing and expensive purchase for what it is. Do not recommend unless you only need a temporary solution or don't need to store fresh food for longer than a week or freeze food for more than a month. The Good HRBN6340EXAU 323L Bottom Mount Refrigerator looks great externally, is quiet [essential for a lounge kitchen] and fits perfectly in a small narrow but tall space. The separate cheese drawer is useful, the fridge light is reasonable in a very well-lit room. Easy to wipe clean. The Bad The temperature regulation is terrible, food does not stay as fresh as my old fridge [Samsung 475L]. The bottom mount freezer compartment is building up frost after 1month. The open door alarm on the fridge door is barely audible. The freezer drawers are awkward to open, the ice tray difficult to use without spillage when liquid.

I received my fridge in early March 2025, after debating between LG and Hitachi. I've always been a fan of Mitsubishi and Hitachi. They are generally very good brands. This was my first time purchasing a small fridge, I've always own large, family fridges. Unfortunately Hitachi dropped the ball with this fridge. The bad: 1. The fridge either freezes food or doesn't provide enough coolness. I've had cheese, potatoes and garlic going mouldy. 2. The freezer constantly has a layer of frost all over. 3. The open door alarm mechanism is non-existent unless you have the door fully wide open. You have to aim to slam the door for it to close, the number of times I have walked away thinking it's closed but it's actually 1cm open is countless. As a consequence, there is constant moisture inside the fridge, making things like crackers go stale in a couple of days. 4. It's noisy! sometimes it spends most of the night making noises. 5. It has a tendency to grasp onto a smells and spreads it around, making fruit acquire the taste of pre-made meals within 24 hours. I've had to change the way I cook to make sure there are never left overs or avoid having fruit all together. 6. It is more expensive that it's competitors. The good: The little ice maker that comes in the freezer, however, I'm sure you can purchase a similar one in a shop online... 5 years warranty - although I wish they offer satisfaction guarantee, I would have sent it back in a heart beat.
