New oven had defects out of factory
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had purchased this oven and when it was installed the dials were hot and the elements were not staying up, there was a rag on the fan and the rivets were not there to hold elements.
The representative for F&P was great when he came and inspected the oven and found the faults
Replacement for existing F&P Tower Oven
This was a replacement double oven for an identical one which I chose to buy 11 years ago. The original oven was insured via Domestic & General and when the hinges failed in the lower oven they were unable to source replacements for at least 6 months. (The Covid effect I think) I was offered a brand new replacement and given a range of makes to choose from. However, all the replacements were too small to fill the housing as they were all 'one and half units'. I had to point out the F&P has 2 full size ovens in a single housing. Luckily I found the identical model online and D&G paid for it. The new one obviously fitted perfectly in the existing housing and is working well. However, I do have one issue. The controls for the upper oven - are tight and have some resistance when turned. I choose the setting then temperature and the light comes on above the controls instantaneously. The controls for the lower oven feel 'loose' and when I choose the setting followed by the temperature there is a definite time lag of 6 seconds before the light comes on. Other than this the oven is easy to use, cooks evenly and looks very smart. It comes into its own when I'm entertaining our large family. With previous ovens I cooked in batches whereas with the 2 full sized ovens I can fit loads into both at the same time.
