History
Breville was founded in 1932 by Bill O'Brien and Harry Norville (who christened the business through a mix of their surnames). Their early output included radios and, during the war, mine detectors - before in 1956, they started manufacturing small appliances. They forged a remarkable legacy in this marketplace, developing over 100 active patents and receiving over 40 international design awards. Aside from their famous sandwich press, they also launched Australia's first food processor in 1977.
